WT-5. Small high-speed WT
Given:
- rated propeller speed - 200 rpm
- torque – 1 kNm
- WT height – 30 m,
- Distance from the tower to the power house – 50 m
- Transformer with 400 V is available the power house – 50 m
The task: design optimal systems for the following drive trains configurations:
- without gear (DD),
- with 1-stage gearbox,
- with 2-stage gearbox,
- with 3-stage gearbox.
Draw conclusions on efficiency vs cost. First take only induction machine and try different efficiency classes. Design for highest efficiency. Limit CAPEX (capital expenditures) to 30000 Euro.
